19 September. London. Shares in carbon fibre suppliers rose to an all time high on the London Stock Exchange following confirmation that Romain Grosjean will remain in F1 for another year.
There had initially been some concern that the crash-happy Frenchman may leave the sport and that carbon fibre companies may have to lay off staff, with the expected fall in demand for new car bits.
Said one company boss today:
“Romain remaining in F1 is great news for us, he keeps the supply chain busy, it is not a well known fact, but thanks to him, last years Spanish Grand Prix proved to be one our biggest ever sales weekends“.
