15 JUN. Le Castellet, France. Following last years traffic debacle, fans have started queuing to get into next weeks French Grand Prix.
Roads around the Circuit Paul Ricard are already clogged with cars for a radius of around 4o km but fans are in a buoyant mood, with many confident that they will actually get into the track in time for the race.
We spoke by telephone to Derek Twing, from Reigate, one of those waiting patiently and ready for another five days of sitting in a mostly stationary car.
“My wife and I got here at the beginning of March and we have been in the queue since then”
He went on:
“We are still around thirty miles from the track and have only moved six inches since last Wednesday but we are enjoying ourselves and are excited at the vague possibility of watching the race from our hugely expensive seats, rather than listening to it on the radio”
