01 MAR. Fans of chirpy chappie, Johnny Herbert, were left distraught today after Sky Sports F1 announced they would be broadcasting the full 17 round, 2019 IndyCar season.
Added to the 21 F1 events, 12 F2 rounds and 8 F3 races that Sky will also be televising, the news means that the channel will probably now have to cut back showing ‘The Johnny Herbert Story‘.
The programme has been a staple of the station for many years and is put on when there is nothing else to show and has to date been broadcast a record 915 times.
Now however, the IndyCar deal means there is simply not enough time to show the programme any more than around five times a week.
Said one unhappy viewer: “Adding the IndyCar season to the channel at no extra cost is just typical of the way Sky treat their customers and in particular, fans of Johnny Herbert”.
He went on: “I’ve been a Sky viewer for years but this is the final straw and I will be cutting off my own nose to spite my face as soon as possible and will be cancelling my subscription forthwith”.
