World of Sport - The wrong sort of Russian doll?

Aside from a bit of football, there aren’t that many sporting events of note in Russia these days, so when 450 girlfriend-less men from St. Petersburg want to race down the cities Vuoksi River on… inflatable sex doll’s, you know it’s going to be an event worth watching.

The dolls are well equipped to be perfect flotation devices, but the competitors are made to work hard if they want to avoid being swept away by the river’s strong current. Strict rules apply to the event, the most important being that the sex doll is to be used only as a swimming aid – and for nothing else.

One competitor was thankful for his ‘partner’ saying; “I sank about two metres down under the bridge, it was so frightening, but I grabbed my girl’s leg and she pulled me out, I’m much obliged to her for that”.

Organisers are hoping to attract over 500 entrants next year, which must mean good news for the local sex shop industry.
