The Nurburgring, in its current guise is not the most exciting venue on the calendar, unless of course you are Mark Webber - or the sole flag-waving Aussie seen in the crowd on Sunday.
However, plans are afoot to change this… with the installation of a roller coaster that will zip between the grandstands and along the main straight at speeds up to 220 km/h, fast enough to get McLaren engineers worried that yet somebody else is quicker than they are.
Sadly the renowned German efficiency was not on hand, as the ‘Ring Racer’ was not finished in time and not able to go at full speed, giving debut rider, Michael Schumacher a bit of a pedestrian ride.
Maybe they need that bloke Bernie rates, you know, the one who gets things done…
