Ralf roasts Red Bull Racing over wrong ‘Ring win...

Former Jordan, Williams and Toyota pedaller, Ralf Schumacher, reckons that Red Bull ‘allowing’ Mark Webber to win the German Grand Prix was a mistake and that his fellow countryman, Sebastian Vettel, should have been given the victory as he is a… better bet for the title.

You can say what you like about the Germans, at least they stick together.

Ralf said in an interview with ‘Bild’ (a German newspaper, a bit like ‘The Sun’ but with more breasts) “There are no team orders at Red Bull and that is actually an error, Sebastian is the stronger driver and he should be collecting every point he can.”

Ralf Schumacher offering advice on how to win an F1 world championship?

That’ll make everybody sit up and listen…

Life is a roller coaster

Life is a roller coaster

The Nurburgring, in its current guise is not the most exciting venue on the calendar, unless of course you are Mark Webber - or the sole flag-waving Aussie seen in the crowd on Sunday.

However, plans are afoot to change this… with the installation of a roller coaster that will zip between the grandstands and along the main straight at speeds up to 220 km/h, fast enough to get McLaren engineers worried that yet somebody else is quicker than they are.

Sadly the renowned German efficiency was not on hand, as the ‘Ring Racer’ was not finished in time and not able to go at full speed, giving debut rider, Michael Schumacher a bit of a pedestrian ride.

Maybe they need that bloke Bernie rates, you know, the one who gets things done…

One Sebastien to replace another?

One Sebastien to replace another?

Nurburgring, Saturday.  Just as he seems to have perfected his grumpy expression and gallic shrug, Toro Rosso pedaller, Sebastien Bourdais looks like he might be enjoying (enduring?) his final Grand Prix weekend.

While some think that British F3 champion, Jaime… Alguersuari, is set for the drive, the good news is that the far easier to spell, Sebastien Loeb could get the gig.

Desperate to report on anything other than the Tour de France, French daily sports paper L’Equipe, reckons that a debut by a 35 year old rally driver with close to zero F1 experience is going to happen.

Too much wine for the journalist at lunchtime perhaps?

Mind you, with the amount of off-road activity during qualifying. Loeb should feel right at home…

Brawn to be riled

Brawn to be riled

Nick Heidfeld naturally has an expression that looks similar to a child who has just had his lolly stolen, but it would now appear that the German has every reason to feel down in the dumps. In an interview ahead… of the German Grand Prix with with the Suddeutscher Zeitung newspaper, Nick reveals how he came close to signing for Honda last year which probably would have meant he would now be sat behind the wheel of the all conquering Brawn BGP001 rather than the truck of a BMW he is currently lumbered with.

Said a glum Heidfeld; “Of course I think from time to time what would have happened, especially now I see them winning race after race”

Apparently, according to a source close to the driver, he can sometimes go whole minutes without thinking about what might have been.

In the face of what will no doubt be another trying weekend at the German Grand Prix, BMW’s Nick Heidfeld has decided to cheer himself up with a competition to design him a new helmet. The lucky winner will get two VIP tickets to… the race, where they will be able to watch their winning entry go round very slowly.

You can enter the competition via Heidfeld’s website.  Here is our effort.
