Schumacher in apology shock!

Schumacher in apology shock!

One day after saying, that attempting to blend Rubens Barrichello into becoming a permanent part of the Hungaroring pit wall, was ‘part of F1’ Michael Schumacher concedes that he might have gone a bit far and has issued an apology… to the Brazilian.

It’s hardly a fulsome, teary, box-of-tissues-required kind of apology but for Michael Schumacher, it is something of a revelation.

Having heard that the German had come over all contrite, several other F1 drivers who have been given the Schuey squeeze over the years, were on tenterhooks by their telephones last night.

However, Messrs Hill, Villeneuve, Frentzen, Hakkinen and Coulthard (amongst many others) were warned not to hold their breath, as one apology in 19 years does not bode well for a repeat anytime soon..

Force India to recruit somebody who knows about tyres?

Force India to recruit somebody who knows about tyres?

Following the mistake at the German Grand Prix, which saw Force India fit the wrong tyres to Vitantonio Liuzzi’s and Adrian Sutil’s cars, the team were in trouble again on Friday when they bolted the wrong set on to Paul… di Resta’s VJM03.

Watching events in Hungary unfolding on the television at home in Dewsbury, tyre fitter, Wayne Bunion decided to contact Force India to offer his services for the remainder of the season.

Said Wayne this morning; “People think fitting tyres is easy and that putting the right ones on the right car should be common sense but let me tell you it is not” He went on, “I once put a set of 205/65 R15’s on a Mini Metro when they should have been 205/60 R15’s so I know only too well the pressure these guys feel in the pitlane”

Bunion has written to Force India and says he is ready to step in from Spa onwards if he can get the time off work.
