Vettel and The Beatles buy new bathroom

Vettel and The Beatles buy new bathroom

Sebastian Vettel has been invited to be the guest of honour at the opening of a new bathroom in Peterborough, after his purchase of a rare Beatles album helped the homeowner realise her dream of having the best khazi in… East Anglia.

BMW Sauber press officer, Ann Bradshaw, was convinced that her plans for her luxury bathroom had been scuppered, following BMW’s decision to pull out of F1, as possible redundancy meant that splashing out £2,600 on a bidet, bath, bog and basin set might not be a sensible idea.

However, as luck would have it, 46 years ago Ann won a signed copy of ‘With The Beatles’ which she decided to put up for auction to help save the project. Vettel, a huge fan of the Fab Four, decided he had to have it and outbid all-comers to get the album.

According to ‘The Peterborough Evening Telegraph’, Bradshaw, 60, will present the LP to Sebastian at the season finale in Abu Dhabi, with the Red Bull star due to visit the bathroom once the tiling has been finished in January.

Red Bull boss, Christian Horner, has revealed that he has two West Highland terriers, one called Bernie and the other Flav. We assume if Christian had a Whippet he’d have to call it Max.

Ralf roasts Red Bull Racing over wrong ‘Ring win...

Former Jordan, Williams and Toyota pedaller, Ralf Schumacher, reckons that Red Bull ‘allowing’ Mark Webber to win the German Grand Prix was a mistake and that his fellow countryman, Sebastian Vettel, should have been given the victory as he is a… better bet for the title.

You can say what you like about the Germans, at least they stick together.

Ralf said in an interview with ‘Bild’ (a German newspaper, a bit like ‘The Sun’ but with more breasts) “There are no team orders at Red Bull and that is actually an error, Sebastian is the stronger driver and he should be collecting every point he can.”

Ralf Schumacher offering advice on how to win an F1 world championship?

That’ll make everybody sit up and listen…

Webber - the new Mansell?

Webber - the new Mansell?

According to Red Bull boss, Christian Horner, Mark Webber could be the ‘next Nigel Mansell’. We can see a likeliness but we reckon Rubens Barrichello has the Mansell book of rubbish excuses all to himself right now..

Red Bull have a new spare part

Red Bull have a new spare part

Thanks to the restrictions on in-season testing, being a reserve/test/third driver is a bit like being a permanent bridesmaid, always hanging around the main event but really with no hope of doing anything other than going home, feeling like a… spare part. So, feel sorry for Red Bull’s own spare part, Brendon Hartley, who after just half a season has been replaced by another bridesmaid, Jaime Alguersuari.

According to the blurb, the Kiwi has been let go to “concentrate on his campaign in the European F3 series.”

Our source reports however, that Brendon’s unique ‘style’, a combination of ‘stroppy-teenager-meets-council-house-single-mum’ look really wasn’t going to shift much fizzy pop.

So – to succeed in F1, get a hair cut and find a hat that fits…

Red Bull issue quick denial to Grand Prix Diary exclusive..

Red Bull have moved quickly to dismiss the Grand Prix Diary exclusive, in which we revealed that Sebastian Vettel had renamed his car Daisy. Such an emphatic denial usually means that something is going on, no smoke without fire…

EXCLUSIVE – Vettel’s new car to be called ‘Daisy’

EXCLUSIVE – Vettel’s new car to be called ‘Daisy’

Young Sebastian Vettel has a habit of giving his Red Bull race car a girls name, with ‘Kate’ and her successor, ‘Kate’s Dirty Sister’ already having made their appearances on track. Now, Grand Prix Diary can exclusively reveal that the… next incarnation of the RB5 will be called Daisy, after Donald Ducks girlfriend.

According to reports, the car has undergone a heavy revision for the British Grand Prix with a new nose, that according to Vettel “resembles a ducks beak” while the new sweeping bodywork includes new front and rear wings.

With rain predicted for Sunday, Daisy could well prove to be the perfect package…

Exclusive! - Webber to race at Donington

Exclusive! - Webber to race at Donington

There are some rather fit drivers in Formula 1. Tri-athlete and Monaco jogger, Jenson Button is one, but not many can hold a candle to Red Bull star, Mark Webber – who even for an Aussie, is something else.

Despite having one… of his legs severely rearranged by a 4×4 car while out on his bike before the season started, Webber has decided to relax before the Turkish Grand Prix by taking part in the ‘Cycling Plus Sportives’ event, which will start and finish at (hopeful) British Grand Prix venue Donington Park. On leaving the East Midlands track, the cyclists face a super-tough,100 mile slog through the Peak District before returning to the circuit.

Locals are being implored to turn out and cheer Mark on, as in all probability this is the only F1 star they are likely to see in the Donington vicinity for the forseeable future…
