After all the fuss surrounding his move to Switzerland last year, Lewis Hamilton appears to have settled nicely into life in Geneva. The world champ was accused of moving to the most boring country in Europe purely for tax purposes, although it appears his claim of “Just wanting a bit of peace and quiet” may be true.
In an interview in ‘The Daily Telegraph’ Lewis tells of how he copes with living in ultra conservative Switzerland where slamming car doors, not cutting your grass and ‘hanging up washing in an untidy fashion’ are actually criminal offences.
“It’s quiet and I’ve got nice old neighbours, when I got home after winning the title I had a red carpet outside the house with ‘world champion’ written on it in spray paint”
A 75 year old Swiss man is helping police with their enquiries.
