F1 stars go into orbit

Bahrain, Saturday. Brawn sponsor and airline chief, Sir Richard Branson, turned up in the paddock today with a pair of tickets that will take Niki Lauda and Rubens Barrichello into space.

At just $200,000 a pop, you can board a Virgin Galactic flight for a quick trip to space and hopefully, back again. Rubens has a passenger ticket while it has been announced that Niki Lauda will help fly the thing.
Lauda, said: “I have been a professional pilot for many years, I fly Boeings and Airbuses and my biggest dream is to fly the Space Shuttle”. “I was always looking at that, but that was impossible because basically Americans do that. When I saw this project I was the first knocking on the door.”

Mind you, listening to his often spouted opinions, there are those who think Lauda has been on a different planet for the last few years anyway…
